What Afridi Said, Holding India Responsible

India and Pakistan remain steadfast in their opposing stances, and the fate of the upcoming Champions Trophy hangs in the balance. With just over two months left for the tournament, the International Cricket Council (ICC) has yet to finalize the venue, plunging the event into uncertainty.

Shahid Afridi sees India’s actions as a major factor behind this uncertainty. According to him, India is mixing politics with sports, which could negatively impact cricket in both countries.

On Thursday, November 28, Afridi took to social media platform X to express his views, stating that the ICC should maintain neutrality. The former Pakistani cricket star also voiced his support for the Pakistan Cricket Board’s (PCB) stance against the hybrid model.

He said, “The BCCI is mixing politics with sports, putting international cricket in an uncertain position. I fully support the PCB’s stance against the hybrid model.”
