Playing for Hyderabad in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, Tilak delivered an explosive innings of 151 runs off 67 balls against Meghalaya. This remarkable performance earned him the world record of becoming the first batter in recognized T20 cricket to score centuries in three consecutive matches.
Tilak also set a new record for the highest individual score by an Indian in a T20 match, surpassing Shreyas Iyer’s previous best of 147 runs. His innings, studded with 14 fours and 10 sixes, broke the earlier record as he scored an unbeaten 151 runs.
On Tilak’s record-breaking day, Hyderabad posted a massive total of 248/4 in 20 overs. In response, Meghalaya was bundled out for just 69 runs, handing Hyderabad a thumping 179-run victory.
