The Last Five ODI results of Pakistan vs. Australia

Most recently, in 2022, these two teams played a bilateral ODI series in Pakistan, which ended in a 2-1 victory for Pakistan. In the last five head-to-heads, Australia secured 3 victories while Pakistan secured two. One of the matches took place during the CWC 2019. 1st ODI at Dubai International Cricket Stadium

Right before the CWC 2019, Pakistan and Australia faced each other in Dubai. Thanks to Glenn Maxwell’s outstanding innings of 70 runs out of 33 balls, Australia set a target of 327 runs. With 3 wickets remaining at hand, Pakistan’s innings ended at 307, making Australia the winner. Glenn Maxwell was named as the Player of The Match.

2nd ODI (CWC 2019) at Taunton

In this much-anticipated match of CWC 2019, Australia beat Pakistan by a margin of 41 runs. While chasing 307, Pakistan lost all its wickets within 266. David Warner’s century enabled Australia to clinch such a target. Consequently, he was declared Player of The Match.

3rd ODI at Gaddafi Stadium

Once again, Australia emerged victorious against Pakistan. At Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium, Australia collected 313 runs and packed Pakistan within 255 runs. Despite Imam ul-Haq’s best effort with the bat, Travis Head’s century was more helpful. Travis received the Player of the Match award.  

4th ODI at Gaddafi Stadium

Just a day later, Pakistan finally ended its losing streak against Australia. With 6 balls and 6 wickets remaining, Pakistan chased down a massive 348 runs target given by Australia. Imam-ul Huq’s consecutive centuries and a strong performance by Babar Azam led Pakistan to its victory. Babar Azam bagged the Player of the Match award for his 114 runs innings.

5th ODI at Gaddafi Stadium

Pakistan sealed the series with a 2-1 victory at this most recent encounter. At the 3rd and final ODI of the series, Pakistan required only 1 wicket to chase down a feeble total of 210 by Australia. Babar Azam’s innings of 105 runs ensured Pakistan’s smooth sail to victory. As a result, Babar Azam received his 2nd Player of the Match in the series.

On October 6, Pakistan will play their first ODI match against the Netherlands at the CWC 2023. On October 8th, Australia will face India.
