The IPL’s second phase will start from April 8

The IPL final will be on May 26, with the schedule for the second phase released. The announcement of the schedule for the second phase was made towards the end of the wait. The schedule was announced until April 7 for the first time. The entire schedule for the second phase has now been announced. The IPL’s second phase will start from April 8.  The entire IPL is being organized in the country during the  elections.

The IPL final will be on May 26 in Chennai. Additionally, Qualifier 1 (May 21) and Eliminator (May 22) will be held at Narendra Modi Stadium. Qualifier 2 (May 24) will be in Chennai.

The schedule for 21 matches of the first phase was arranged. The matches of the second phase are starting from April 8. Like the first time, the second phase is also starting with a match of Chennai Super Kings. They will play against Kolkata Knight Riders at their home ground. It will be a night match. The schedule for the first phase was not announced during the Lok Sabha election announcement.

In the past, the entire IPL has been organized in South Africa during the Lok Sabha elections (2009). In 2014, half of the IPL was organized in the United Arab Emirates. In 2019, the IPL was held in the country itself. This time also, it is the same. However, matches were not played at that time in the part of the country where the elections were held, in order to avoid any inconvenience for the viewers during the Lok Sabha elections.

Two matches have been scheduled in Dharamsala in the schedule for the second phase. Punjab Kings will play these as home matches. They will play against Chennai on May 5 and against Bangalore on May 9 in Dharamsala.

Additionally, two matches are scheduled in Guwahati, which is the ‘home ground’ of Rajasthan Royals. They will play against Punjab on May 15 and against Kolkata on May 19. The group stage matches will end on May 20. After a day’s break, the playoffs will start the next day.
