The International Cricket Council (ICC) has announced a record prize for the T20 World Cup. The organization has declared a total financial prize of $12.25 million for the World Cup, which is more than 1.32 billion Bangladeshi Taka. The winning team will receive $2.45 million .

This announcement was made on Monday through a press release on the ICC’s website.

The prize money has been increased at all levels of the T20 World Cup. This year, 20 teams are participating in the World Cup. The last eight teams will each receive $225,000. Teams finishing from ninth to twelfth place will each receive $247,500.

The eight teams finishing from fifth to eighth place will receive $382,500 each. The two teams losing in the semifinals will each receive $787,500.

The runner-up team will be awarded $1.28 million.

There are additional financial rewards for the teams participating in the World Cup. Each team will receive $31,154 for every match they win.

In a statement, ICC Chief Executive Officer Geoff Allardice said that for various reasons, this is a historic World Cup, and the rewards for the players should reflect that. He hopes that millions of fans worldwide will enjoy the games.
