The fate wasn’t supportive for India!

In November, Australia won the ICC Cricket World Cup for the sixth time, defeating India on their home turf. Even in the Under-19 World Cup, the youth followed the footsteps of the seniors. India lost at home, securing the fourth position.

In the ICC World Cup final showdown in Benoni, South Africa, Australia defeated India by 79 runs. After winning the toss and electing to bat, Australia amassed 253 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in the allotted overs. In response, India stumbled, losing all wickets for 174 runs in 43.5 overs.

Harjas Singh top-scored for India with 55 runs, followed by Huzaifa Wibaggen with 48, and Harry Dickson with 42 runs. Oliver Pack played an unbeaten inning of 46 runs off 43 balls, while the rest of the batters failed to make significant contributions.

Raj Limbani took three wickets for India, while Naman Tiwari grabbed two.

Despite India’s efforts, the Indian batters couldn’t stand against the Australian bowlers. Only four batters managed to reach double figures, with Adarsh Singh scoring the highest with 47 runs. Murugan Abhishek scored 42 runs, followed by Musir Khan with 22 runs and Naman Tiwari with 14 runs.

For Australia, Raf McMillan and Mahli Breadman took three wickets each, while Callum Vidler claimed two wickets.
