England got all out for 122 runs, securing India’s record victory by 434 runs in the third Test at Rajkot. This is India’s biggest win in Test cricket. Prior to this, in 2021, India defeated New Zealand by 372 runs. Yesterday, on the fourth day, England fell short of India’s massive target of 557 runs. In response, England could only manage 122 runs all out.
Despite aiming for a huge target, England couldn’t put up a fight with the bat and collapsed in just 39.4 overs. Mark Wood top-scored for the team with 33 runs in the innings. Only four batsmen managed to reach double-digit scores. Ravindra Jadeja took five wickets for India. With this win, India leads the series 2-1.
Earlier, India won the toss and opted to bat in the third Test of the five-match series. India amassed 445 runs before being all out in their first innings. Rohit Sharma scored 131 runs, while Ravindra Jadeja contributed 112 runs. Mark Wood took four wickets for England. In response, England was all out for 319 runs in their first innings. Ben Duckett played a lone hand with 153 runs for the team. Mohammed Siraj took four wickets for India. India had a lead of 126 runs after the first innings.
In their second innings, India set a huge target. Before lunch on the fourth day, they declared at 430 runs for the loss of four wickets. Mayank Agarwal scored 214 runs, and Shubman Gill contributed 91 runs in the innings. Sarfaraz Khan also played a quickfire innings of 68 runs.
