The BCB has dismissed Chandika Hathurusingha. Ahead of the upcoming series against South Africa, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has sacked the head coach of the Bangladesh team, Chandika Hathurusingha. He has also been issued a show-cause notice.
BCB President Faruk Ahmed announced the decision during a press conference in Mirpur on Tuesday.
The BCB president stated, “We were trying to manage the situation with the current coach. Two or three incidents occurred that were not good examples for the team. He has been given a show-cause notice and suspended.”
Chandika Hathurusingha served as the head coach of the Bangladesh national team during his first stint from June 2014 to October 2017. However, during that time, he unexpectedly left Bangladesh in the middle of his contract. He returned as Bangladesh’s coach for a second term in 2023, with a contract set to run until February 2025. However, before the completion of the contract, Hathurusingha has now been dismissed.
