The Afghanistan-Bangladesh T20 series may take place in October

With the 2026 T20 World Cup in mind, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) is planning to organize a series against Afghanistan. It is expected that this series may take place in October.

On Friday (March 14), cricket website Cricbuzz reported this information.

A BCB official told Cricbuzz, “We have already started discussions with the Afghanistan Cricket Board regarding the previously postponed series.

Further discussions will take place after Ramadan, and we are hoping to play three T20 matches, as we consider this part of our preparation for the T20 World Cup.”

Confirming the possibility of the series in October, an official from the Afghanistan Cricket Board said, “If you look at the FTP (Future Tours Programme), you will see that there is a window between October 2 and 12. We are discussing finalizing the dates and details.”

Bangladesh last played a three-match ODI series against Afghanistan in November last year, which was held in the UAE as part of preparations for the Champions Trophy.

Additionally, Afghanistan was scheduled to tour Bangladesh last July, but the BCB postponed it due to workload concerns.

This time, however, both boards are confident. Further details will be known once the official announcement is made.
