The West Indies will play in the T20 World Cup for the ninth time on United States and West Indies soil. According to ICC regulations, teams must announce their squads for the T20 World Cup by May 1.
Following that protocol, South Africa has announced their squad for the World Cup as the second team this time. Through a press release on Tuesday, Rob Walter, the coach of South Africa’s cricket team, announced Eden Markram as captain and revealed a squad of 15 members.
Many cricketers have found opportunities in this squad for the One Day World Cup. New faces include youngsters like Otaniel Bartman, Bjorn Imad Forschwein, Ryan Rickelton, and Tristan Stubb.
Additionally, experienced players like Quinton de Kock lead the top order batting. Alongside him are veterans like Riza Hendricks, David Miller, and Heinrich Klaasen, who are prepared to frustrate opposition bowlers. Besides, Klaasen is currently in fantastic form in the IPL.
Furthermore, in bowling attacks, stars like Tabraiz Shamsi, Kagiso Rabada, Keshav Maharaj, and Marco Jansen are ready to excel. A blend of youth and experience makes this squad formidable, according to Proteas’ management.
