Earlier, after winning the T20 World Cup in 2024, Rohit had announced his retirement from T20s. Having stepped away from both formats, he will now only play One Day Internationals (ODIs).
On Instagram, Rohit wrote:
“I want to let everyone know that I am retiring from Test cricket. Representing the country in whites has been a great honor. Thank you for the love and support you have given me over the years.”
