Australian all-rounder Glenn Maxwell will return to action in the upcoming T20 series against India. Cricket Australia (CA) has announced the squad for the last three matches of the five-match T20 series. Earlier, the squad for the first two matches had already been announced.
Although Maxwell was not included in the initial two matches, he has been selected for the final three games of the series. Earlier this month, during a net session ahead of the T20 series against New Zealand, Maxwell injured his wrist, which ruled him out of that three-match series. Now, he is set to wear the national jersey again and return to the field against India.
Additionally, right-arm pacer Mahli Beardman has earned a spot in the squad for the last three matches. The 20-year-old fast bowler has received his first-ever call-up to the national team.
Due to injury, wicketkeeper-batter Josh Inglis has been ruled out of the T20 series, and Josh Philippe has been named as his replacement.
The five-match T20 series between Australia and India is set to begin on October 29.
