Rameez Raja doesn’t want to see Amir in the Pakistan national team. Pakistani pacer Mohammad Amir was banned in 2010 for spot-fixing. Despite returning to the national team after the ban, he couldn’t succeed. After 2020, this pacer is back on the national team’s radar, which angers former cricketer Rameez Raja.
Last month, Amir expressed his desire to return to T20 World Cup after breaking retirement. He also indicated his willingness to play a role as the fourth pacer in the World Cup. Amir has been called to the training camp for the series against New Zealand, indicating his return to the main team.
Rameez Raja commented on this matter to a Pakistani media outlet, saying, “My opinion on this matter is very straightforward. I am not against redemption in cricket. However, it is essential to understand this for society and fans. During the Lord’s Test, I was providing commentary at that time. People started hating me then. I have also been seen with fixers. The criticism we faced was never forgotten.”
Rameez Raja added, “Although I have sympathy for him, there is no mercy. The Creator does not forgive on this way, but if my son does this, I will disown him.”
