Pakistan is set to take control of Asian cricket from India

For a long time, Jai Shah has held the path of decision-making in Asian cricket. Even though his term has ended, he remains in his position.

However, the Jai Shah era is about to come to an end. If everything goes according to plan, he will hand over power to Pakistan’s Mohsin Naqvi.

After Jai Shah, the responsibility of the Asian Cricket Council is set to be taken over by PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi, according to reports published by several Pakistani media outlets citing special sources.

However, he will have to wait for that. Naqvi may assume this responsibility in January next year. Until then, BCCI Secretary Jai Shah will manage this crucial position.

Jai Shah has long reigned over the Asian Cricket Council. He has been in the chairman’s position since 2021. Even though his term with the Asian Cricket Council ends in January 2024, he has been kept in the role for an additional year.

Since January, it was speculated that Pakistan Cricket Board Chairman Mohsin Naqvi would take over the guardianship of Asian cricket. However, for some unknown reason, this responsibility was not given to Naqvi. Now, the old speculation has resurfaced.

Primarily, this time Jai Shah is expected to compete for the ICC chairman position. Following this rumor, the discussion about the ACC chairman’s position has come to the fore. Since then, the news is that Mohsin Naqvi is going to get the responsibility of the ACC.
