Pakistan Embarrasses Zimbabwe, Mukim’s Record Performance

Zimbabwe suffered a humiliating defeat against Pakistan due to an unbelievable batting collapse. They lost all 10 wickets for just 20 runs, managing a total of only 57. Pakistan chased down the target with all 10 wickets intact, marking the first time they have won against Zimbabwe without losing a wicket.

On Tuesday in Bulawayo, Sufiyan Mukim made history. He bowled only 16 balls to claim 5 wickets, conceding just 3 runs. His bowling figures of 2.4-0-3-5 are now the best in Pakistan’s T20 history.

The previous record was held by Umar Gul, who took 5 wickets for 6 runs on two occasions. Mukim has now surpassed that milestone. Moreover, among ICC full-member teams, no bowler has taken 5 wickets for fewer runs than Mukim.

Interestingly, just a month and a half ago, Zimbabwe set a T20 world record of 344 runs against Gambia. But now, they’ve hit rock bottom in the same format, getting bowled out for their lowest-ever score of 57 runs.

Zimbabwe started the game strongly, scoring 37 runs without loss in the first four overs. However, an extraordinary collapse followed, and their innings ended in just 12.4 overs. Besides Mukim, Abbas Afridi took 2 wickets for only 2 runs.

In reply, Pakistan reached the target with 87 balls to spare. This was the first time they won a chase in T20 cricket with more than 50 balls remaining. Saim scored 36 runs off 18 balls, hitting 6 fours and 1 six, while Yusuf contributed 22 runs off 15 balls with 2 fours and 1 six.

With this second consecutive win in the three-match series, Pakistan has secured the series victory. The final T20 match will take place on Thursday at the same venue.
