One Bangladeshi in ODI Team of the Year, No Indian Players Included

As 2024 comes to a close, popular cricket website ESPNcricinfo has announced its ODI Team of the Year based on players’ performances throughout the year. Bangladesh’s pacer Taskin Ahmed has earned a spot in this prestigious lineup. Notably, no players from India or Australia made the list, which has surprised many.

Taskin Ahmed is the only Bangladeshi cricketer to feature in the team. Apart from him, the squad includes four players from Sri Lanka, three from Afghanistan, and one each from Pakistan, West Indies, and England.

In 2024, Taskin displayed exceptional form in both Test and ODI formats. In ODIs, he played seven matches, taking 14 wickets at an impressive average of 23.9. This remarkable performance secured his place in ESPNcricinfo’s ODI Team of the Year.
