New Zealand to Tour India Without Williamson

New Zealand will tour India later this month. The Kiwis will play a three-match Test series against the hosts. However, Kane Williamson will not be traveling with the rest of the squad to India. Although his name is in the squad, he remains in waiting.

New Zealand has announced a 17-member squad for the series. Kane Williamson has been included in the squad conditionally, as announced on Wednesday.

Due to a groin injury, Williamson will have to wait. He will only head to India once he has fully recovered. However, it is confirmed that he will miss the first Test. In his place, Mark Chapman will travel to India.

After the Bengaluru Test, India and New Zealand will play two more Test matches on October 24 in Pune and November 1 at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. All three matches are part of the ICC Test Championship.

New Zealand Squad: Tom Latham (captain), Tom Blundell, Michael Bracewell, Mark Chapman, Devon Conway, Matt Henry, Daryl Mitchell, Will O’Rourke, Ajaz Patel, Glenn Phillips, Rachin Ravindra, Mitchell Santner, Ben Sears, Ish Sodhi, Tim Southee, Kane Williamson, Will Young.
