Mustafiz changes team in BPL, leaving Cumilla behind

Mustafiz changes team in BPL, leaving Cumilla behind. After playing for several seasons with Cumilla Victorians, Mustafizur Rahman has now switched teams, joining Dhaka Capitals. The Dhaka Capitals confirmed this through a post on their official social media platform, Facebook, today.

It has been revealed that even before the BPL Players Draft takes place, franchises are directly signing players. There is no franchise for Cumilla, the most successful team in the tournament, in the upcoming eleventh season. As a result, it was already known that Mustafiz would have to change teams.

Before the upcoming season, Dhaka has once again changed its name and ownership. This time, popular Bangladeshi film actor Shakib Khan has taken ownership of the BPL franchise. His cosmetics and home care company, Remark-Harlene, has named the team ‘Dhaka Capitals.’

Today, the team began its player acquisition process by signing a foreign cricketer. West Indian hard-hitting batter Johnson Charles has been signed by Dhaka. Following that, they added local star pacer Mustafiz as their second choice.

The Players Draft for the country’s franchise tournament will be held on October 14. Before that, the player price list and categories have been released. The highest allocation for players in the ‘A’ category is set at 6 million BDT. Mustafiz is in the ‘A’ category. In total, 188 local cricketers have been finalized in six categories.

It should be noted that the eleventh edition of the BPL is scheduled to start on December 27. Seven franchises have been finalized for the tournament. A new franchise, Durbar Rajshahi, has replaced Cumilla Victorians. Additionally, old BPL franchises Dhaka (Dhaka Capitals) and Chittagong (Chittagong Kings) have returned to the tournament.
