After Team India, now bad news for Gujarat Titans. Ankle’s injury is still not healed. That’s why Mohammed Shami has been ruled out of the upcoming IPL.
According to BCCI sources, Shami went to England in the last week of January. He took some injections in Ankle to consult with doctors there. He was told that he would recover in three weeks. Even if he couldn’t raise his hand to bowl, he wouldn’t have trouble running. But he didn’t benefit from that medicine. The pain didn’t decrease.
The source further informed that at this moment, there is no other option without surgery. Shami will fly back to England within a few days. There is no question of Shami playing in the IPL. He played with an injury in the last World Cup. But due to Ankle’s injury worsening, he hasn’t worn the Indian team’s jersey for the upcoming five-match Test series against England. Then he won’t be seen in this year’s IPL either. He will undergo surgery in England to fully recover.
In the early stages of the World Cup, Mohammad Shami had to sit out. However, he proved himself on the field as soon as he got there. In just 7 matches, he took 24 wickets and was at the top. His best performance was against New Zealand in the semifinals. In that match, he took 7 wickets for 57 runs. However, he has been out of the field since the World Cup battle.
