Mitchell Starc hints at retiring from ODIs!

After 9 years, Mitchell Starc made a royal comeback to the IPL stage. Kolkata Knight Riders bought him for a record-breaking 247.5 million rupees. Although this left-arm pacer had a lackluster start, he ended the season brilliantly.

Kolkata Knight Riders won the final against Sunrisers Hyderabad and took the trophy. Starc was the man of the match in the final, taking 2 wickets for just 14 runs. After the IPL victory, this Aussie pacer is reconsidering his regular participation in franchise cricket and may retire from ODI cricket as a result.

Starc said, “In the last 9 years, I have prioritized Australian cricket. I have given myself rest and spent some time with my wife outside of cricket, so I have thought about these things over the last 9 years. Look, I am definitely closer to the end of my career than the beginning. I might have to give up one format.”

“There’s a lot of time left until the next ODI World Cup, and whether I will continue this version… it might open the doors to franchise cricket even more.”

Returning to the IPL after 9 years, Starc commented, “I really enjoyed the season. It was great! Another benefit was that the tournament took place before the World Cup. I got to face some extraordinary players before the World Cup. It was a great thing before the World Cup!”
