Kamran made a mark after getting a chance in place of Babar. On his debut, Kamran Ghulam showcased his talent, thrilling everyone with a century. The 29-year-old batsman shone brightly by scoring a century, becoming Pakistan’s 13th batsman to achieve this milestone.
Kamran, who replaced Babar Azam in the team, reached the three-figure mark off the last ball of the 74th over after Pakistan lost their second wicket for 19 runs in the 10th over. The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa player reached his century by hitting a slog sweep for four over long-on off England’s part-time spinner Joe Root.
In his first Test innings, Kamran scored 118 runs. He was dropped once on 79 when Ben Duckett missed a catch, but he capitalized, hitting 11 fours and 1 six in his 224-ball innings. However, late in the day, he was bowled while trying to play Shoaib Bashir down the wicket.
Thanks to Kamran’s century, Pakistan posted 259/5 at the end of the first day of the Test. Mohammad Rizwan remains unbeaten on 37, while Salman Agha is on 5.
