“In List A cricket, at the age of 17 he broke the record for the fastest century in just 29 balls. Surely, he can do something similar in T20 cricket as well.
The path to his rise could be seen in a glance :
At the age of 17, he won the Sheffield Shield in First-Class cricket.
Also at the age of 17, he achieved a century in List A cricket.
Despite attracting attention for his fielding in youth World Cups, he failed to make an impact with the bat in domestic cricket.
With a change of fortune, he left Victoria last year and found success in South Australia, truly turning the wheel of luck.
Representing South Australia, he broke the record for the fastest century in List A cricket in his third match, surpassing A.B. de Villiers’ record of 31 balls by scoring a century in just 29 balls against Tasmania last October. He scored 125 runs off 38 balls with 10 fours and 13 sixes that day.
He then went on to score his first century in First-Class cricket against his old team, Victoria.
He then exploded onto the scene with a strike rate of 158.64, scoring 257 runs.
Shortly after his big bash, he made his debut in overseas franchise leagues. He scored 54 off 25 balls in his first match in the IPL T20 league.
It was with Maxwell, who he had found camaraderie with, that he first got the chance to represent the Australian team. In February last year, he hit a six and a four against the West Indies in an ODI match. He then scored 43 off 18 balls in the next match.
Ricky Ponting then said that he could do wonders in Test cricket as well, and he should be given a chance in the Australian team in all formats as soon as possible. Ponting believes that, like David Warner, Fraser-McGurk could be effective in all three formats.
Despite remaining unsold at the IPL auction, he later joined the team. He was picked up by the Delhi Capitals instead of Lungi Ngidi.
He scored 55 off 35 balls with 5 sixes in his debut IPL match. In the next match, he scored 20 off 10 balls. Then, he scored 65 off 18 balls with 7 sixes in the next match. In the following match, he scored 23 off 14 balls. Today, he scored 84 off 27 balls.
So far, he has scored 247 runs in 5 innings. His strike rate is 237.50. Among batsmen who have scored at least 100 runs, he has the best strike rate. He has hit a total of 22 sixes and an equal number of fours.”
