In international T20 cricket, Indonesian female cricketer Rohmaliya has set a world record for the best bowling performance. She claimed 7 wickets without conceding any runs in 3.2 overs against Mongolia, making it the best bowling performance in international T20 cricket. Rohmaliya set this world record at just 17 years old in an international debut match.
In the ongoing six-match T20 series against Mongolia, Indonesia batted first in the fifth match, scoring 151 runs for the loss of 5 wickets. In response, Rohmaliya wreaked havoc, taking 7 wickets for just 24 runs in 3.2 overs as Mongolia collapsed for just 24 runs in 16.2 overs.
As the fifth bowler to bowl, Rohmaliya didn’t concede any runs in her 3.2 overs, taking 3 maidens along with 7 wickets. She took 3 wickets in the first over, 1 in the second, 2 in the third, and 1 in the fourth over.
Rohmaliya’s performance makes her the third bowler in women’s international T20 cricket to take 7 wickets in an innings. Before her, Frederique Overdijk of the Netherlands achieved this feat against France in 2021, and Alison Stock of Argentina did it against Peru in 2022.
In men’s international T20 cricket, the best bowling figure belongs to Malaysia’s Syazrul Idrus. He claimed 7 wickets for 8 runs against China in 2023.
