Haris Rauf has been excluded from the PCB’s central contract.

The Pakistani fast bowler had expressed his reluctance to play Test cricket while being a part of the national team, preferring instead to participate in Australia’s franchise tournament, the Big Bash League (BBL). This led to a dispute with the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB). Now, Haris has faced the consequences as he has been excluded from the PCB’s central contract.

This information has been conveyed to the country’s several media outlets by the PCB on Thursday. It is reported that this decision was made during a meeting of the Pakistan cricket governing body. A committee has been formed by the PCB to investigate Haris Rauf’s reluctance to play Test cricket while being a part of the national team.

According to Geo News, it has been stated in the governing body’s statement that due to Haris Rauf’s refusal to be a part of the squad for the 2023-24 Test series against Australia, he has been penalized by the PCB. His central contract with the PCB has been terminated from December 1, 2023.

Additionally, he will not be allowed to participate in foreign franchise tournaments until June 30 next year.
