Pakistan started the T20 series by losing to Ireland. Despite the pressure after that loss, Babar Azam’s team made a comeback in the second match.
Even in the third and final match of the series, Pakistan secured a win. Ireland, batting first in Dublin, amassed 178 runs with captain Lorcan Tucker’s 73.
In response, Mohammad Rizwan and Babar Azam’s partnership of 139 runs in 74 balls brought Pakistan close to the target with three overs remaining.
Despite losing five wickets, Rizwan scored 56 runs in 38 balls, while Babar scored 75 runs in 42 balls. Despite losing three wickets quickly, Pakistan faced no trouble securing victory in a short time.
Earlier, after losing the toss, Ireland started batting and lost their opener Ross Adair’s wicket to Shahin Afridi. The pressure of losing early wickets didn’t deter Ireland’s captain Tucker and Andy Balbirnie, who scored a century partnership in the 11th over, with Balbirnie getting out at 35 runs.
After the fall of Tucker’s wicket, none of the next four batsmen managed to score double digits. Despite Afridi’s impressive bowling performance, taking three wickets in four overs, Abbas Afridi also contributed by taking two wickets for 43 runs. With one wicket each, Mohammad Amir and Imad Wasim completed the bowling attack for Pakistan.
