Pakistan secured their opening match victory against the Netherlands in the second ODI of CWC 2023. Despite showing brave efforts, the Dutch team falls in front of an unsteady Pakistani batting order.

After winning the toss, Netherlands decided to bowl first and enclose Pakistan within a tight margin. Their decision proved to be reasonably correct when the Dutch pacer Bas de Leede collected 4 wickets by caving 62 runs. Mohammad Rizwan and Saud Shakeel rescued the seemingly drowning Pakistani batting order. Their effort with the bat saved Pakistan from a catastrophe.
Pakistan managed to score 286 runs in 49 Overs by losing all wickets. In reply, the Dutch top-order started great as they scored 120 by losing 3 wickets. However, things fell apart when Haris Rauf and Hassan Ali initiated their aggression with the ball. The remaining Dutch batting lineup plunged in the subsequent 85 runs.

Saud Shakeel received the Player of The Match title for his outstanding innings of 68 runs out of 52 balls. Evidently, the Netherlands is not an obstacle to pass but a storm to fight.
