Bangladesh’s Frustration Grows, No Sign of a Wicket

On the second day of the Antigua Test, Saturday, Bangladesh put the West Indies under pressure by taking two wickets in the first hour. Hasan Mahmud shook the Caribbean side with a double strike. The Tigers got their first breakthrough with just 3 runs added to the overnight total when Hasan trapped Joshua Da Silva LBW for 14 runs. In his next over, he dismissed Alzarri Joseph for 4.

Bangladesh’s frustration is mounting as wickets remain elusive. Despite a promising start to the day, the disappointment continues to grow over time. The partnership is strengthening, runs are piling up, and the West Indies are on their way to scoring 400. This is causing increased concern within the Bangladesh camp.

With two quick wickets and only 11 runs added in the morning, Bangladesh gained confidence. However, that confidence has now turned into frustration. Kemar Roach and Justin Greaves handled the early setback exceptionally well.

After losing 7 wickets for 261 runs, the duo played watchfully. Their resistance has taken the hosts past 300 and now heading toward 400. Justin Greaves is nearing a century, while his partnership with Roach has surpassed 100 runs.

At the moment, after 124 overs, their score stands at 370 for 7 wickets. Greaves has scored 83 runs off 143 balls, while Kemar Roach has shown patience, contributing 31 runs off 118 balls.

Earlier, on the first day of the Antigua Test on Friday, the West Indies scored 250 runs for 5 wickets in 84 overs. The day’s play ended six overs early due to poor light. Taskin Ahmed took two wickets on the first day.
