Bangladesh showed promising performance in the first T20

Bangladesh isn’t doing well despite starting the series against Zimbabwe with a win. The team management is concerned about Liton Das, the best opener’s out-of-form, and wants to see him regain his form before the World Cup. Chairman Nazmul Hasan Papon has given special instructions to the batting coach in this regard.

The effectiveness of the batting coach’s advice will be tested today. Bangladesh will take the field in the second match of the five-match T20 series on Sunday. The match against Zimbabwe will kick off at 6 PM at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram.

Bangladesh showed promising performance in the first T20, starting the series with a massive eight-wicket victory. Today presents an opportunity to extend that lead in the series. The peaceful force will strive to fulfill that goal.

However, the Zimbabwe series serves as preparation for the bigger challenge ahead: the World Cup. Maintaining their best coordination is vital, especially with Liton Das struggling. Despite having alternative openers, Bangladesh prefers to stick with Liton due to his potential. His bat could script a new saga today.

Bangladesh leads Zimbabwe comfortably in T20s, winning 14 out of 21 matches. But they’ve lost seven times as well.

Moreover, Bangladesh has a stronger record against Zimbabwe at home. Since 2001, Zimbabwe hasn’t won any series in Bangladesh. They aim to maintain that record in this series as well.

Though the primary focus is on the World Cup preparation, Sakib expressed his opposition. He made it clear in a media interaction on Saturday that playing against Zimbabwe or the United States won’t prepare them for the World Cup in any way.

Nevertheless, even if not for preparation, securing victories against Zimbabwe could play a significant role in boosting morale and confidence. Therefore, Bangladesh will take to the field today with victory in mind.
