Bangladesh Cricket Board announced squad for the World Cup

There are no surprises in the squad announced by the selection committee headed by chief selector Gazi Ashraf Hossain at Sher-e-Bangla Stadium, Mirpur. Taskeen Ahmed, who is nursing an injury, is in the team; he is the vice-captain of the Bangladesh team in the World Cup. The captain is Nazmul Hossain, as usual.

Pace bowling all-rounder Saifuddin is not in the squad of 15 members. As reserves, pace bowler Hasan Mahmud and all-rounder Afif Hossain have been included in the squad.

Like the first time, Tanvir Islam, Jakir Ali, Rishad Hossain, Tanjim Hasan, and Tanjid Hasan are in the T20 World Cup squad. Mahmudullah is back in the T20 World Cup squad after 2021.

Before the World Cup, Bangladesh will play a preparatory T20 series of one match against The United States. Both reserve players will be in the squad against the United States.

Bangladesh’s matches against the United States in Houston are on May 21, 23, and 25. All matches will be at 9 p.m. Bangladesh time.
