Australia wants to organize a bilateral series between India and Pakistan due to the tense political environment, the long-standing rivalry between India and Pakistan has kept bilateral series suspended for a long time. Only encounters in ICC events and Asia Cup witness their clashes.
Due to such relations, Pakistani players are not seen in the Indian Premier League (IPL) either. However, this time, Cricket Australia has taken the initiative to organize the desired series.
Peter Roach, Cricket Australia’s cricket operations manager, stated that any country in the world would want to organize matches between India and Pakistan.
He also mentioned the Pakistan-India match held in Melbourne during the 2022 T20 World Cup. Nearly a million spectators attended that match. Peter also added that they want to repeatedly organize such exciting and rivalry-filled matches.
However, Cricket Australia wants a green signal from the ICC and PCB regarding this matter.
Australia has a series with Pakistan and India in November. The Border-Gavaskar series between India and Australia will begin on November 22nd.
Before that, there are ODIs and T20I series with Pakistan from November 4th to 18th.
