The prize money for the Champions Trophy has been announced. The winning team will receive $2.24 million (approximately 270.6 million BDT).
Today, ICC released the prize money breakdown for the Champions Trophy.
The runner-up team will get $1.12 million (around 135.3 million BDT). The two teams eliminated in the semifinals will each receive $560,000 (approximately 67.6 million BDT).
This year, the tournament’s prize money has increased by 53%.
Each victory in the group stage will earn a team $34,000 (around 4.1 million BDT). In the group stage, Bangladesh will face India, Pakistan, and New Zealand.
In this eight-team tournament, the fifth and sixth-placed teams will receive $350,000 each (approximately 42.3 million BDT).
The seventh and eighth-placed teams will get $140,000 each (around 16.9 million BDT). Additionally, every participating team will receive $125,000 (approximately 15.1 million BDT).
The Champions Trophy will begin on February 19, with matches taking place in Pakistan and Dubai. This will be the first ICC event hosted by Pakistan since 1996.
