Later this month, the Bangladesh team is set to play a full series against Sri Lanka, which will begin with two Test matches.
For this Test series, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) announced a 16-member squad yesterday. As expected, Najmul Hossain Shanto remains the captain of the team.
Mehidy Hasan Miraz will continue as the vice-captain. In a press release issued by the BCB, it was stated regarding the captaincy:
“Top-order batter Najmul Hossain Shanto will continue as Bangladesh’s Test captain for another year, a role he assumed in 2024. Mehidy Hasan Miraz will continue serving as the vice-captain. This pair led the Test team in the previous season and will remain in their roles.”
During the Sri Lanka tour, Bangladesh will play two Tests, three One Day Internationals (ODIs), and three Twenty20 Internationals (T20Is). The first Test will begin on June 17 in Galle, and the second Test will start on June 25 in Colombo.
