Bangladesh’s franchise Rangpur Riders claimed the championship in the Global Super League by defeating Victoria in the final held in Guyana. Soumya Sarkar played a stunning unbeaten knock of 86 runs off 47 balls, including 5 sixes and 7 fours, to lead his team to victory.

On Saturday (November 7), the title-deciding match took place at the Providence Stadium in Guyana, where Rangpur triumphed over Victoria with a convincing 56-run margin.

After winning the toss and opting to bat first, Rangpur Riders posted a formidable total of 178 runs in the allotted 20 overs. In response, Victoria were bowled out for 122 runs in 18.1 overs.

Match Highlights:

Rangpur got off to a flying start with an impressive partnership between Soumya Sarkar and Steven Taylor, who together added 124 runs. Both players scored half-centuries—Soumya in 33 balls and Taylor in 44 balls.

Taylor was eventually dismissed for 68 off 49 balls, but Soumya continued to anchor the innings. Contributions from Saif Hasan (6) and Madsen (10) helped Rangpur reach a competitive total.

Chasing 179, the Australian team Victoria had a strong start, scoring 65 runs for the loss of one wicket in the first 7 overs. However, they collapsed dramatically, losing 5 wickets in the next 5 overs, reducing their score to 89 for 6 in 12 overs. They never recovered and were all out for 122 runs in 18.1 overs.
