Bangladesh has lost to Zimbabwe in the Sylhet Test. On the final session of the fourth day, the African side defeated the Tigers by 3 wickets. Despite a poor batting performance in the first innings, Bangladesh couldn’t make a comeback.
Although there was a slight improvement in the run count in the second innings, it didn’t prove to be of much use. Mominul and Shanto showed some consistency, and Zakir Ali also contributed with the bat. Mahmudul Hasan Joy tried as well. However, the rest couldn’t make much of an impact and instead put the team in trouble.
Blessing Muzarabani wreaked havoc with the ball for Zimbabwe. His six-wicket haul dismantled Bangladesh. Earlier, the Tigers had ended the third day on 194 for 4 wickets. But on the fourth day, they failed to put up any resistance.
Zimbabwe needed 174 runs to win. They got off to a great start with the bats of Brian Bennett and Ben Curran. Although they later faced a collapse, Bangladesh couldn’t stop them.
Bangladesh had scored 191 runs in their first innings and 255 in the second. In response, Zimbabwe posted 273 in their first innings and chased down 174 in their second innings, losing 7 wickets.
